On Thursday, December 4, Coleman Intermediate School proudly welcomed volunteers from Relyance Bank as part of the ongoing partnership between the Watson Chapel School District and community business leaders. The goal of this collaboration is to expose students to real-world financial concepts and to strengthen their understanding of responsible money management.
From 10:00–11:00 AM, volunteers worked directly with 3rd grade students, engaging them in hands-on activities that introduced smart money habits, saving, spending wisely, and understanding the value of financial responsibility. Students were excited to participate, ask questions, and make connections between what they learned and everyday life.
Also supporting this event were high school student volunteers, who assisted Relyance Bank representatives throughout the morning. Interim Principal Mr. Reginald Forte and Assistant Principal Mr. Lawson were present as well, expressing their appreciation for the strong community involvement.
The presence of business and student leaders in the classroom not only enhances academic learning but also inspires students to envision future possibilities. Hearing from professionals who use financial decision-making every day helps students see the relevance of these skills beyond the school walls.
Coleman Intermediate extends heartfelt appreciation to Relyance Bank and all volunteers for their continued investment in our students. Partnerships like these play a vital role in preparing students for success in school and in life.
