Inclement Weather Makeup Day Plan:
Days 1 & 2 will be made up on Wednesdays. Students will NOT be dismissed early on Wednesday for the remainder of the year.
Days 3 & 4 will be made up on May 29-30.

Congratulation to Coleman Scholars. The fourth and fifth graders were challenged by Mr. Crumpton with Group Violence Intervention (GVI) to learn the poem "Myself" and the 1st Place winner was Treasure Dupree who recited the poem within 3 days. Other winners were Zayne Edwards, Omarion Jolly, Cobi Miller, Rana Sufyan, LaReisha Bowers, Elyjah Washington, and Kingston McBride. The scholars earned a trip to Mayor Washington's Office and City Hall.


Good Afternoon Parent and Guardians of Coleman Elementary School. Today students will be dismissed at 2:10 for city buses, 2:15 for car and van riders, and 2:25 for country buses. Please make the necessary arrangements to have students picked up on time today. Due to the snow days that need to be made up, the school board has approved to use the Wednesday early dismissal days to make up two of the inclement weather days. Today will be the last Wednesday that the students will be dismissed early until May 22, 2024.

4th and 5th Grade Scholars at Coleman Elementary have been given a challenge from Mayor Washington to memorize and recite the poem “Myself” by February 26, 2024. The first scholar to recite the poem to Mrs. Reynolds will receive $50.00 from Mr. Crumpton with (GVI) and a Special reward and trip to City Hall to visit Mayor Washington. Results will be announced.

The Watson Chapel School District will be assessing the side roads and back roads where our buses travel on regular routes this afternoon. The primary roads are in pretty good shape. Hopefully, there will be enough melting with rising temperatures so the routes will be safe to transport our students on Thursday morning. A decision will be made by early this evening.

This is just a friendly reminder that we are back on our early Wednesday dismissal schedule at Coleman Elementary School. The first bell for city bus riders will ring at 2:10. The car and van riders will be dismissed at 2:15 and the country bus riders will be dismissed at 2:25. Please make the necessary arrangements to have all car riders picked up by 2:25.
